Welcome to Kids’ Shaolin Kung-Fu!

How would you like your child to be more disciplined? What about having better Concentrationatschool? Or better behavior at home? Would you like them to have the confidence to stand up for themselves against bullies?

Learning kung fu is an excellent way to foster discipline and mental focus in children. Martial arts can also build character as well as confidence, and your child will have fun while developing both physically and mentally!

What Makes Us Different?

Martial arts are about so much more than learning how to kick and punch. At Kung Fu Schools, we understand this, and as such, we place equal emphases on the physical aspects as well as the inner teachings of Chinese Shaolin Kung fu: the cultivation of sound mind, body and spirit Apart from teaching effective self-defence, our class structure builds a strong foundation of discipline and mutual respect. Our lessons instill important life lessons that will stay with students throughout their lives: courtesy, respect, discipline, patience, perseverance, tolerance towards
thers… Our positive and upbeat lessons aim to teach children not only the ABC’s of self-defence, but also the ABC’s of life: Attitude, Behaviour and Character.
At Kung Fu Schools, we believe that the majority of challenges facing a child do not stem from external factors, but from internal issues. More often than not, it is a child’s own self-doubt, fear and a lack of confidence that prevents them from realizing their full potential.
This is why, apart from teaching effective self-defence, we seek to nurture a child’s confidence. Our system of positive rewards acknowledges a child’s achievements and encourages them to aim ever higher. Our students learn to recognize their own strengths and to have faith in their own abilities, thereby boosting their self-esteem and morale.
Your child will learn to have the willpower to say “no” to unhealthy peer pressure, to assert themselves against bullies, and above all else, to face all challenges with firm self-belief and a can-do attitude.

Shaolin Kung Fu Federationteach children according to a comprehensive and well-structured curriculum. Our traditional belt ranking system allows students to track their individual progress and to set their own achievable goals, and in the process, they learn to appreciate the importance of perseverance and hard work in the journey towards their black belt.
Classes are conducted by our team of qualified professional instructors in a friendly and upbeat atmosphere. We aim to teach applicable self-defence in a fun and engaging way, such that children are learning and enjoying themselves at the same time. When our students come away from a lesson sweaty, smiling and eager for more, we know that we’ve done our job!

Juniors (Ages 7 – 12)

An older child moving towards their teenage years will encounter different challenges from a younger child, from a heavier workload at school, to the nature of bullying they might face. Also, as they develop physically, mentally and emotionally, they begin to learn quicker than younger children, but still in a different way from adults.
Because of this, Shaolin Kung Fu Federation run age-specific martial arts classes that are fun, engaging, challenging, and more importantly, appropriate to your child’s age and learning stage.
Younger children between the ages of 4 and 7 will benefit from our Little Dragons classes, while ourAdult classes will suit anyone aged 13 and above.
Our Junior classes are custom-tailored for children from 7 to 12 years of age, with a comprehensive curriculum covering everything from beginners, through to intermediates and advanced. Our aim is to guide each one of our students to towards their Junior Black Belt, and beyond. After all, a black belt is only a white belt that never gave up!
As your child progresses through our grading structure, their concentration will improve, allowing for longer classes for intermediate and advanced students involving partner and weapons work, all conducted under the watchful eye of our instructors in a safe, controlled setting. Classes are upbeat and energetic, with a limited number of children in a class. A small student to instructor ratio ensures your child gets the most out of each and every lesson. Our team of friendly and professional instructors, all of which are fully trained and CRB-checked, are committed to delivering lessons packed with techniques, energy and fun.
Our close relationship with the Confucius Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine gives our Juniors the opportunity to perform with them in various Shaolin Kung Fu demonstrations and performances. Some of our students have starred alongside actor Larry Lamb in the cast of the pantomime show Aladdin, and a few have appeared on BBC’s Blue Peter with Jack Black to celebrate the release of Kung Fu.
